OPSC Civil Services Apply Online 2024

The steps to apply online for the Odisha Civil Services Exam are as follows:

Step 1 - Go to OPSC official website. Proceed to the Online Application Portal.
Step 2 - Read all the instructions and click 'OK'. On the next page, click the link to apply for Odisha Civil Services. 

Step 3 - Register yourself by filling in the details like email id, phone number.
Step 4 - A username and password will be sent to your mail.
Step 5 - Login with Username and Password and fill all the mandatory fields like category, date of birth, educational details etc.
Step 6 - Upload the required documents and attach a recent passport size photograph.

Step 7: Pay the required fees and click on submit button.

Step 8: Download and take a printout of the application form.

Age Limit for Odisha Civil Services

Candidates planning to appear for OPSC OAS recruitment need to meet the range of age limit as follows:

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 38 years

Educational Qualification for OPSC OAS

As per the OPSC Civil Services eligibility criteria, the candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a university approved by the Central Govt.

Other Eligibility Conditions for Odisha Civil Services

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• The Candidate should be able to read, write and speak in Odia and should have:
  • Passed Middle School examination with Odia as a subject OR
  • Passes HSC or equivalent as Odia as Medium of examination in non-language subject OR
  • Passed in Odia as a language in class VII from school or an educational institute recognised by the Government of Odisha or Central Govt. OR
  • Passed test in Odia in Middle English school standard conducted by School and Mass Education Department of Government of Odisha.
• Government servants (temporary or permanent) are eligible to appear for the exam only after a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from their competent authority is submitted. Their Eligibility will be void in case they are not able to provide the NOC from the Head of their department.
• Candidates are permitted maximum 4 attempts at OPSC OAS recruitment. Although, candidates belonging to SC and ST categories have no such limit and SEBC candidates are allowed 7 attempts.

OPSC Civil Services Exam Pattern 

After the candidate has submitted an online application for OPSC OAS recruitment, one should take a look at the OPSC Civil Services exam pattern. The exam set by the commission has 3 major steps:

Preliminary Exam Pattern

• Prelims is a screening exam with Multiple Choice Questions.
• The exam will be divided into 2 papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2) of 2 hours each.
• Paper 2 is qualifying in nature and candidates have to score above 33% to be able to attend the mains exam.
• There is a negative marking of 1/3rd of the assigned mark.

Mains Exam Pattern

After the candidate has cleared their preliminary examination, they are called in for the Main exam.

• The main exam is an essay based exam comprising 9 exam sets.
• Each paper has 3 hours each

Interview Exam Pattern

After clearing the mains exam for OPSC Civil Services recruitment, the candidate is called in by the commission for a personality test. The interview is for 250 marks.

The candidate has to clear all the exams with passing marks set by the commission in order to secure their position with the OPSC Civil Services.
