The Karnataka State Eligibility Test (Karnataka SET), also known as LBS Karnataka SET, is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Karnataka, India. The primary purpose of the Karnataka SET exam is to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in various universities and colleges in Karnataka. It is similar to the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) but is specific to the state of Karnataka.

Candidates interested in becoming assistant professors can apply for the KSET exam online. The application is completed entirely online. The applicant must complete the application form found on the official website. The procedure for applying for the KSET is as follows:
Step 1: Visit the KSET official website and there you will find out the link to apply online.
Step 2: Candidates need to fill in the application form giving the details like Name, Contact number, Email, Date of Birth, Gender, etc. Click on “Register” to proceed for the next step.
Step 3: In this step candidates need to fill the application form by providing their personal as well as academic details.
Step 4: Upload the photograph and signature and click on next to proceed for the payment screen.
Step 5: Select the appropriate mode of payment and pay the application fee.
Step 6: Print the submitted application form along with the fee receipt for future uses.
To complete the application procedure, applicants must pay the application fees. The application fee varies according to the categories. The application fees of the KSET examination are as follows:

Before candidates apply for the KSET 2024 exam, it is crucial to know the eligibility criteria of the examination properly. The Eligibility for this year will be released with the official notification. the Eligibility Criteria from last year. Knowing the eligibility criteria is the first element of any exam preparation. Candidates must be aware of the KSET Selection Process 2023 before appearing for the examination. The exam will be conducted in two papers.
Note- Candidates should be scoring minimum aggregate marks in both papers to qualify. The qualification percentage required is 40% for General category candidates, whereas for reserved candidates such as SC / ST/ CAT-I / II A/ II B / III A / III B / PWD it is 35%. According to the UGC guidelines, only 6% of the total candidates will qualify for the post. The University of Mysore will prepare a merit list according to the guidelines prescribed by UGC.

KSET 2024 will expectedly be conducted by the University of Mysore in two papers and it will be an offline exam. Paper -I is a compulsory paper that will be based on the topics of general teaching and research aptitude, whereas Paper-II will be based on subjects selected by the candidates.
