The Indian Navy has outlined the following steps for the application process for the position of Chargeman-II, which will be open from 18th to 31st December 2023.
Step 1: Visit the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in and navigate to Join Navy >> Ways to Join >> Civilian >> Chargeman-II.
Step 2: Read and download the 'How to Apply' guidelines before filling out the online application form.
Step 3: Candidates are advised to apply online well before the closing date and not to wait until the last date to avoid internet connectivity or website overload issues.
Step 4: Candidates must register online by filling in their basic details. After successful registration, a user ID and password will be provided via email.
Step 5: Fill in the name, date of birth, father's name, and mother's name as given in matriculation/secondary school certificates.
Step 6: Candidates should have their own mobile number and a valid and active personal email ID.
Step 7: Multiple applications for the same post are not allowed. If multiple applications are submitted, the one with the higher registration number and complete information will be considered.
Step 8: Candidates must indicate their choice of Command for posting in order of preference, which will have no bearing on their merit.
Step 9: Mistakes made in the online application form cannot be corrected by the Indian Navy, and the organization will take no responsibility for such application forms.
Step 10: Candidates are required to carefully read the instructions on the Indian Navy website before filling out the online application. Before final submission, candidates should review their application.
Candidates must pay a non-refundable and non-transferable fee of Rs. 295 plus applicable charges to apply, with payment through credit card, net banking, or UPI. Service charges are the responsibility of the applicant. Women and specific categories are exempt. Ex-servicemen previously employed under the Central Government do not qualify for concessions, and no refunds or adjustments will be made after payment. Below are the Application Fee details.

The Indian Navy selects candidates for the position of Chargeman through a two-stage process. The first stage involves the screening of all online applications received, to ensure compliance with eligibility criteria and terms and conditions set by the Government of India. Fulfilling the basic selection criteria does not guarantee an invitation to the online test. The second stage consists of a computer-based examination that tests candidates on 100 objective-type questions drawn from the syllabus. All shortlisted and eligible candidates are required to take this test. The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the examination and other qualifying criteria.
To be eligible for the position of Chargeman in the Indian Navy, candidates must meet certain criteria. Candidates must be within the age limit of 18 to 25 years. They must be Indian citizens, Nepalese or Bhutanese subjects, Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries with the intention of settling in India permanently. Candidates must hold a degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics from a recognized university or a Diploma in Engineering in the relevant field from a recognized university or board. However, applicants with higher qualifications may also be considered as long as they possess one of the essential educational qualifications as determined by the competent authority.
The Indian Navy conducts recruitment for the post of Chargeman through a computer-based examination. The examination consists of 100 objective-type questions based on different subjects. The subjects include General Intelligence and Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, General Awareness, and Syllabus specific to the post applied for.
