The 1576 Battle of Haldighati was fought between Maharana Pratap, the King of Mewar and the forces of Akbar led by Rajput king Raja Mansingh. Although this battle resulted in the loss of Maharana Pratap, he managed to flee the battle and continued his fierce resistance against the Mughal Empire.
