14th March 2024: AP TET Result to be out today!

How to apply for AP TET 2024?

The candidates who wish to apply for the AP TET  2024 can do so by following the steps given below once the application process begins.

Step 1: Visit the official portal of the Commissioner of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh. 

Step 2: On the Andhra Pradesh Commissioner of School Education home page, you can click on the ‘Apply Online Link.’

Step 3: Read the AP TET notification and the Information Bulletin carefully before applying.

Step 4: Pay the application fee using online payment methods like Credit/ Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI etc. Candidates will be allotted a ‘Journal Number’. 

Step 5: Proceed with the application and fill in the required details like name, contact number, email ID, educational qualifications etc. and upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.

Step 6: Upload the scanned copy of your signature and a recent coloured passport size photograph. The size of these should not exceed 50KB and be in a .jpeg format. Candidates can use the free resizing and cropping tool available on Testbook’s website to change the dimensions or file size of their documents. The dimensions for the photograph and signature are as follows:

Step 7: Re-check all the information and submit by clicking on the submit button.

Step 8: A ‘reference ID number’ will be allotted to each candidate. Save the number and take a printout of the filled application form for your future reference. 

AP TET Exam Application Fee

Candidates applying for the Andhra Pradesh TET 2024 need to pay an application fee/ examination fee along with their application form. The payment needs to be made through online payment mode only using either Credit/Debit Card, net banking, UPI or other means.

The candidate after satisfying himself/herself about the eligibility criteria for APTET will pay a fee of Rs.750.00 through Payment Gateway between from 08.02.2024 to 18.02.2024 for submission of application Online.

AP TET Selection Process 2024

The AP TET is a qualifying examination for candidates willing to apply for teaching posts for classes I-VIII at Government Schools of Andhra Pradesh. The further selection process will depend upon the school the candidate is applying to. However, candidates must note that there are a total of 2 papers under the AP TET Exam as follows

• Paper I: for candidates who intend to be teachers for Classes I to V.
• Paper II: for candidates who intend to be teachers for Classes for candidates who intend to be teachers for Classes VI to VIII.

Candidates who secure the passing marks as prescribed by the authorities in the notification are deemed to have passed.

AP TET Eligibility

Candidates need to fulfill certain eligibility criteria to be valid candidates for the examination. Mentioned below are the AP TET eligibility criteria prescribed by the official authorities.

• Candidates must have completed Intermediate/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) .

AP TET Exam Pattern 2024

The Department of School Education of Andhra Pradesh will conduct the AP TET to hire teachers for Grades I to VIII. Candidates applying for these positions will be judged and tested on various grounds like knowledge relating to child pedagogy, mathematics, languages known etc. There will be 2 papers for AP TET:

• Paper I: for candidates who intend to be teachers for Classes I to V.
• Paper II: for candidates who intend to be teachers for Classes for candidates who intend to be teachers for Classes I to VI to VIII.

The AP TET Exam consists of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Each question carries One mark and there is no negative marking for incorrect responses.

The exam pattern for these papers is as follows. 

AP TET Paper I-A Exam Pattern

• This paper is for people who intend to be a teacher for Classes I to V
• The total number of questions are 150.
• Duration of the exam is 2.5 hours.

AP TET Paper I-B Exam Pattern

• This paper is for people who intend to be a teacher for Classes I to V
• The total number of questions are 150.
• Duration of the exam is 2.5 hours.

AP TET Paper II-A Exam Pattern

• This paper is for people who intend to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII.
• The total number of questions are 150.
• Duration of the exam is 2.5 hours.

AP TET Paper II-B Exam Pattern

• This paper is for people who intend to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII.
• The total number of questions are 150.
• Duration of the exam is 2.5 hours.

The AP TET syllabus is made available on the official website of the Commissioner of School Education. The syllabus is designed by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) of Andhra Pradesh. The AP TET syllabus includes a detailed description of Paper I and Paper II.
